Vol. 01 · Studio Note Holliston, Massachusetts

A studio for businesses that take their work seriously.

I design and build the websites, and dial in the Google Business Profiles, of small businesses — restaurants, custom builders, salons, contractors, design studios, and the local trades. From neighborhood shops to high-end custom homes — the kind of work that takes pride in itself, and deserves a website that does the same.

§ 01 · Who I work with

Built for the people who run a real business, not a hashtag.

Whether you've got service trucks or a roster of architects you build for, the same rule applies: your website should pull weight, not collect dust. Built for the work, not for show.

i. Local services Trades, junk removal, contractors, cleaners, movers — anyone whose customers find them by searching their town. Service-area pages, emergency CTAs, easy quote requests, and Google Business Profile work that gets calls.
ii. Brick-and-mortar Restaurants, salons, gyms, auto mechanics, studios, retail. Fast mobile sites with online booking, hours, directions, menus, and the kind of photos that make people walk through your door — or pull into your lot.
iii. Studios & specialty trades Custom builders, architects, design firms, photographers, and craft-led businesses — anyone whose customers find them through reputation and referral. Editorial sites that signal the level you actually work at.

§ 02 · Selected work

A few sites built recently.

Each one custom-built, hand-coded, and live in the wild. Click through to see them in their natural habitat.

§ 03 · The practice

Two things, done well.

Pick the one your business needs — most clients only need one. Pricing varies by scope, and I'll quote you flat after a quick conversation.

i.

Custom-built
websites

Fast, mobile-first sites built from scratch — no bloated templates. Every page laid out to turn visitors into customers, not just look nice on a Dribbble shot. The right pick if your current site is dated, slow, or making you look smaller than you are.

  • Mobile-first design — 60%+ of trade searches happen on phones
  • One-tap call & text buttons above the fold
  • Service area pages that actually rank in Google
  • Photo galleries, financing info, before/afters
  • Quote forms that get filled out, not abandoned
  • Loads in under 2 seconds — fast = better rankings
ii.

Google Business
Profile

Your Google Business Profile is just as important as your website for getting local calls. I optimize it top to bottom so you show up in the Map Pack — those top three results with the map. The right pick if your site is fine but Google just isn't sending people your way.

  • Full profile audit & cleanup
  • Service categories & service area dialed in
  • Photos uploaded with proper geo-tagging
  • Posts, Q&A, and review response strategy
  • Citation building (Yelp, Angi, BBB, etc.)
  • Monthly performance check-ins available
§ 04 · The full menu

Three packages, one promise: your phone rings more.

Every build is a flat-rate, one-time fee — no retainers, no surprises. Pick the size that fits, and I'll quote you flat after a quick conversation.

Stop playing phone tag.

Online booking is included with every Signature and Premium build. Customers see your live availability, pick a time, and the appointment lands in your Google Calendar — with reminders so they don't no-show.

§ 05 · A note from Bob

A website is a tool. It should do the job your business needs it to do — get someone on the phone, take a reservation, open the door to a sale, show off the work.

The best websites disappear. The job gets done.

Most sites for real businesses — local shops, custom builders, design firms, service operations — are built backwards. Pretty templates with no clear purpose. Hidden contact info. Pages that don't say anything. Photography that looks great in a portfolio reel and tells you nothing about the place.

What works is simpler. A site that loads fast. Puts the important thing first — phone, menu, booking, catalog, whatever your customers actually need. Treats Google like part of the front door, because for most businesses it is. Looks like the business it represents.

If you want a website built to do the job — not just look nice — this is the right shop.

§ 06 · Common questions

Real questions, real answers.

Most people ask the same things. Here are mine, answered straight.

How much does a website cost?

Three flat-rate packages depending on what you need: Foundation (a focused single-page site), Signature (the flagship multi-section build with online booking and Google Business Profile work), and Premium (multi-page builds with custom features). See pricing & full details →

How long until I'm getting calls?

Build timelines vary based on the project — could be a couple weeks for a simple site, longer for something with more pages or custom features. I'll give you an honest timeline before we start. Once live, Google rankings take 4-12 weeks to show real movement depending on your competition. The Google Business Profile work tends to bring in calls faster (often within 2-4 weeks) because the Map Pack moves quicker than regular search results.

Do you handle hosting and domains?

Yes — I'll get the domain registered (if you don't have one) and hosting set up on a fast, reliable platform. Hosting runs about $15/month and the domain is around $15/year. You own everything; if we ever part ways, the site goes with you.

What if I already have a website?

If it's working, we don't need to rebuild it. I can audit what you have and just optimize the parts that aren't pulling weight, plus dial in your Google Business Profile. If it's a Wix or GoDaddy site that's holding you back, I can usually rebuild it for less than what you're paying yearly for that platform.

Do you do ongoing maintenance?

Yes, but only if you want it. Three optional Care plans available — from basic hosting only, all the way up to active SEO and review management. No mandatory retainer; cancel any time. See pricing & full details →

I'm a competitor of yours — will you build my site?

If you run a plumbing business in my service area: no, that's a conflict of interest. I'm happy to refer you to a colleague. For everyone else — bring it on.

What do you need from me to get started?

Your business info, a list of services you offer, photos if you have them (I can also help you take new ones), and access to your existing accounts (Google, domain registrar) if applicable. That's it. I'll guide you through the rest.
